Disha Vakani grew up in Ahmedabad, Gujarat,India. where her dad Bhim Vakani was a observed character of Gujarati cinema, and she started acting in plays as a child actor. Following her schooling, she finished in the Dramatic arts from Gujarat University in Ahmedabad.
Vakani started her career as a phase actor, acting in popular Gujarati plays like Kamal Patel v/s Dhamal Patel, Baa Retire Thai Che and Lali Lila, before going to little functions in shows like Devdas (2002) and Jodha Akbar (2008).
