Lahore 1947

Lahore 1947 is an upcoming Hindi-language period action film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan. Set during the 1947 partition of India, it stars Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, marking Zinta’s return after a seven-year break. The film features music by A. R. Rahman.

Inspired by Asghar Wajahat’s play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Ni, the film began production in February 2024 and finished by August 2024. Originally scheduled for release on January 26, 2025, it has been delayed to June 2025 due to post-production work.

The story follows a Muslim family that migrates from Lucknow to Lahore during the partition and is allocated a haveli vacated by a Hindu family. Tensions rise when they discover an elderly Hindu woman still living there, leading to complex emotional dynamics against the backdrop of the turbulent period.
